Donald Earl Houtkooper, age 98, formally of Canby, Minn., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne, Minn. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 12, 2026, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church Chapel in Canby. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and the service follows at 2 p.m.
Lila J. Sillerud, age 86, of Canby, Minn., passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, at Ava’s House Hospice in Sioux Falls, S.D. Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Friday, March 6, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Canby with Rev. Levi Bollerud officiating. Burial will be held at a later date.
Dorene Mae (Jants) Swenson, 87, of Burleson, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026. Dorene was born June 23, 1938, in Canby, Minn., to Alfred and Mildred (Knutson) Jants. She graduated from Canby High School in 1956.
Mass of Christian Burial for Eileen Differding, 92, of Minneota, will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 4 -7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 4 p.m. and a Rosary at 7 p.m. also at St. Edward Catholic Church.
Eugene D. Clark, age 86, of White, S.D., passed away on Friday, Feb., 20, 2026, at the Canby Nursing Home in Canby, Minn.
Eugene “Gene” DeWit, age 97, of Canby, Minn. passed away on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at the Sanford Canby Medical Center. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m.
Daniel Allison Hunt, age 57, formerly of Canby, Minn., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, in Sioux Falls, S.D. A celebration of Daniel’s life will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Christian Fellowship Church in Detroit Lakes, Minn.
Neil David Olsen, born on Jan. 9, 1952, in Canby, Minn., passed away on Feb. 9, 2026, in Dallas, Texas, leaving behind a legacy that reflects his remarkable character and dedication to the community he cherished.
Nicholas Joseph Citterman, age 63 of Hendricks, Minn. passed away on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. following a courageous and very brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Singsaas Church, rural Hendricks.
James “Jimmy” Knofczynski, age 88, of rural Ivanhoe, Minn., passed away on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026 at the HCHA Nursing Home in Hendricks, Minn. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at St. John Cantius Catholic Church in Wilno, Minn. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
